Postpartum Anxiety Therapy: Get Relief from Your Symptoms

I know you have an endless ocean of love inside of you. I’m just here to help you process the worries and fears so you can feel it again (and shower it on your baby!)

The point of therapy for postpartum anxiety is to get back to health, wholeness, and happiness with your newest family member. So, how does it work?

In our first therapy session, we’ll chat about the history of your symptoms and feelings. Then, we’ll develop goals and a treatment plan to help you shake this thing off once and for all.

We’ll work the plan in ongoing weekly sessions until you feel confident, grounded, and unburdened by anxieties. Because you and your baby deserve it!

I know the first time meeting a therapist can be a bit scary for some people. So I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we’re a good fit. Will you reach out today for the help and support you need?

How PPA Therapy Helps You Feel Better

How are you feeling this week? I want to hear all about it, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Getting the help you need and deserve starts with weekly therapy sessions. You simply show up for online therapy at the scheduled time, and in a place that’s convenient for you (such as your bedroom or home office).

As the work progresses, I will help you process your thoughts and feelings, and help you find peace in your body. This is super important!

Finding peace in your body, regulating your emotions, and dissolving physical tension and stress are SO IMPORTANT for mothers like you.

We can work with your personality and symptoms to find what works for you. Here are a few therapies I use to help you:

  • CBT (working with thoughts, feelings, and actions to feel better)
  • Somatic Work (releasing physical tension through specific movements)
  • EMDR starting in June 2024 (using eye movements to process “stuck” memories).

So please be assured that you’re in good hands – I’ve helped countless women overcome PPA (and its cousin, the Baby Blues).

Hi, my name is Sonia Diaz-Ebadi and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Nevada and California.

In my own life, I’ve learned some things that can be beneficial to you on your own healing journey. For one, I’ve dealt with my own deep pain, and I’m not afraid of yours. I’ll hold space for you to explore your feelings without judgment. My goal is for you to feel safe first and foremost, and to tell your truth when you’re ready.

The primary way that I help is by establishing rapport, trust, alliance, and attunement with you. It’s these simple human touches that make the difference and create safety for you to own your truth. Over the last 15 years, I’ve seen a wide range of issues in my practice. So, I’m here to provide the container for your healing process to occur.

It would be an honor to support you in your journey of overcoming postpartum anxiety and becoming the mother you know you are. Please contact me here or call me at (805)637-7630.

Recovery from postpartum anxiety is a journey that’s as unique as you are. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all timeline since it deeply depends on your individual circumstances, your support system, and how you resonate with the therapy. My approach to helping women through postpartum depression integrates a blend of therapies tailored to your specific needs—whether that’s through EMDR for processing any trauma, somatic techniques to reconnect with your body, or traditional talk therapy to work through your emotions and thoughts. Many of my clients have found their path to recovery with this personalized support, and I’m here to walk with you on your journey back to well-being. Recovery is not just possible; it’s within reach.

I believe in a personalized approach to PPA therapy. Combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Experiencing, and traditional talk therapy offers a holistic path to healing. Each method brings its own strength—CBT for tackling negative thoughts, EMDR for processing traumatic memories, Somatic Experiencing for reconnecting with your body, and talk therapy for emotional exploration. This blend ensures we address all aspects of your well-being.

Absolutely, seeing a therapist for postpartum anxiety can be a game-changer. It’s like having a guide in a dense forest—the right therapist can help you navigate through the fog and find your way back to yourself. Therapy offers a space to unpack your feelings, understand what you’re exeriencing, and learn strategies to cope and heal. It’s not just about getting through the day; it’s about rediscovering joy and connection with your baby and yourself. Think of it as an investment in your well-being and your family’s happiness. You deserve that support, and it truly can make a world of difference.

Oh, absolutely! In my 15 years of practice, I’ve walked alongside so many incredible women through their journey with postpartum anxiety. Therapy isn’t just talk; it’s a powerful tool that really does help lift that heavy fog. We dive into strategies tailored just for you, whether it’s reshaping those tough thoughts, learning new coping skills, or sometimes connecting you with a trusted psychiatrist if medication might be part of your path. Seeing the transformation, the moment those clouds start to part, is why I do what I do. It’s not a quick fix, but yes, therapy truly works.

The journey through therapy for postpartum anxiety varies for every mother. Some mothers find themselves feeling much brighter after a few months, while others might take a bit longer to find their footing—there’s no one-size-fits-all timeline. In my 15 years of helping women navigate these experiences, I’ve seen firsthand that healing is not a race. It’s more about giving yourself permission to take the time you need, to heal at your own pace. The goal is to help you feel more like yourself again, and however long that takes is just right for you.

I’m so glad you asked! To start, please click one of the buttons above or below to schedule a consultation, or just pick up the phone and call me at (805)637-7630. I’m always happy to hear from new mothers and offer a free 15-minute consultation via phone to see if we’re a good fit.
